need some more cam help....please!

I posted the cam number ? thread below. I talked to a guy over the phone who gave me numbers for a cam I was going to buy and I though he said it was comp...so i meet him and he pulls out a lunati box but says hes not sure if its lunati or not but he knew it was a roller cam. So i get home and check the lunati number on the box and it comes back hydro flat tappet cam. I posted some pics of the cam and the ramps look like a roller cam from what I know. the numbers he gave me are scribed on the back of the cam...not sure if a cam manufactuer would scribe numbers like that so the may mean nothing. Ive got some pics and I tried to use my elec micrometer to check if intake and exhaust lift are the same..they all say about 1.478" anyway for me to use this number to help figure what this cam is and who makes it..thank you so so much.

Re: need some more cam help....please!

Nothing has changed since last night. It's still a Comp product; 3311 and 3312 are still the lobe catalog #s; and HR12 still means it's a hyd roller with 112° of LSA. The thing that looks like a script "E" is actually 2 "C"s, one on top of each other; that being the signature of Comp Cams.

You can see the roller "track" looking wear on some of the lobes. Not at all like the kind of wear that occurs on a flat-tappet cam lobe.

As someone was kind enough to point out to me, Comp has moved their "master lobe catalog" from out of their catalog, and put a link to it on their front page. Here is the link.

http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Ca...obeCatalog.pdf

Go to page 16 of the file, which is page 14 of the paper book it is a pdf of, and you will see the lobes. Note that the intake is the XR 258° lobe. Then go to their cam catalog, and look up the XR258HR in the OE hyd roller Xtreme series (page 19 of that file), and there you will see that cam.

It's a REALLY LITTLE hyd roller, but should run GREAT in a 305 especially a TPI one, even with nothing but the stock programming.
