Engine trouble / Leaking fluid ... HELP!

(before i begin let me say that i am not very experienced with cars.)

So I got in a front end accident with my '92 camaro v6 almost a year ago, and I thought i got everything fixed but recently I've noticed a few problems:

my starter has been acting up recently so i went under to take a look at it and I noticed two things, first, in the basin/pan, directly behind the starter there is a hole in the center that seems to be leaking a pale green fluid, this confuses me because it looks like the hole was purposely made.
also, i noticed the same fluid was dripping on the starter, probably from a leak in the engine or something above it.
Possibly related, is the fact that recently my engine has been acting very strange, its been missing and when i try to accelerate it cuts out for a moment as if its not getting enough fuel. This makes driving it difficult and is a big problem.

Any insights or advice that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Brandon

Re: Engine trouble / Leaking fluid ... HELP!

the pan youre talking about is the dust cover for the flexplate (flywheel).the fluid youre referring to is coolant( antifreeze) you probably have a freeze plug leaking, most likely one behind the flexplate.taking in to account you said you dont know much about cars id recommend you get a reliable shop to fix this.as far as the engine acting strange it could be related to the coolant loss. get the coolant problem fixed first then let the shop check the engine.good luck, later jimmy

theres two freeze plugs behind the flexplate, fluid will run down the back of the block to the starter hole in the flexplate is for fluid to run out of,later jimmy
