hey

my car has been running like **** lately so ive been tuning it up(pcv valve,air filter, oil and oil filter,cap rotor and coil, knock sensor, etc etc etc)

so i went to change the spark plugs today started pulling em out and noticed that they all had a bunch of oil on em

i asked my dad about it and he said im probly ****ed and should have the engine rebuilt.

so my question , is this a really big problem

 

sounds like blow by in the cylinders which means your oil rings may have gone bad.. how many miles are on the engine?

 

Did you have it sitting for any time? Do you see smoke coming out the back when you're on the road? Are all of you're plugs wet? Might just be valve guides and a valve job might fix it.

 

it says there are 87000 miles but i think it rolled over because everything seems to be going bad

and idk if it was sitting before i got it but yea it was blowing out smoke but then i changed the o2 sensor so it doesnt do it at all times but itll blow some smoke out when i get on it but not horribly tho

 

Well, it doesn't sound like anything is broken, just worn out.

sometimes ill turn on my car when its cold and itll start up and about 10 seconds later ill just hit the gas pedal a little and it wont rev or anything it just dies completely in like 1 second, and then ill start it again and itll run OK, anything you know of that it could be?

i was thinking maybe something to do twith the egr system possibly

btw its a 305 tpi

 

sounds like a fuel problem. Do you have one of those clear plastic fuel filters on it?

 

no i replaced it already and it was black and not see through
