Re: Car cant start please help.

that clicking you hear is your starter. Take a hammer and give it a couple of whacks and try it again.

I get the battery and get it test again, find out that is complete die and cant be recharger, I get a working battery from my mustang, and try to crank it, I dont hear any click noise, but its try to crank, but it just wont turn over, I mean I saw the bell moving around but its just cant turn over ? after 20 min trying to crank, my good battery is die ( is that normal ), and I start heard the click again, I put that battery back to the mustang and my stang cant crank, i heard click click click.

Charge the battery that You just killed, or better yet get another good battery ( I suggest you dont buy the Cheap Crap batterys at walmart, get a nice delphi battery, i got a delphi in 2 1/2 years ago for my grand Prix and Never a problem.. Or go with a optima Battery, I got that In mY GTA, A RED TOP.

Get it to Crank, Do process of Elimination, I dont know any Notorious V6 starting Problems that well, But when I got my Gta I bought it Dead, and Process of Elimination Lead me to a bad fuel Injector that was shorting out the whole Drivers side rail.

Start with simple stuff, spray a little Bit of that ( Quick Starting Fluid) in your Plenum and Crank it, if it starts then dies, you can assume you got a fuel problem. Does it sound Like its starving?..

Check For spark, all the simple stuff before you go Crazy

You see, Process of Elimination.. I would use some wire dryer before you go and buy new tune up stuff but if you had them already thats cool, plugs and wires never hurt... and for a V6 they shouldnt be Much

Re: Car cant start please help.

Like Mcgarnicle aid at the beginning, the clicking you hear is your starter. Replace your starter. You killed the good battery from your mustang trying to start your firebird. Put a good battery back in your mustang.

Before you buy a new starter, you can take it off, take it to oriely or autozone and have them test it, but I'm willing to bet changing your starter will fix it.
----------
You can also hit it with a hammer like mc said. If you hit it and it starts, thenm your starter is definitely failing. hitting it just knocked it loose enough for one or two more cranks. CHANGE THE STARTER

he then Said

What hes sayin is with the new battery the starter is no longer Clicking and its now Cranking, but it just wont start....I...I think...

I have seen batterys with not enough juice make that solinoid sound

The prices range.. advance auto parts sells a starter for Like $30.00.. I need a starter too, I have to Push start all the time.. But remember If you get cheap you get what you pay for... look at spendin $50 for a good starter...take a look online...

Let me ask you a few questions I am Little Confused..

1) with the mustang Battery, will the car crank Like its starting But just wont Fire up? or does the starter Not turn the engine at all?

2) the clicking sound that you hear, does it happen only one time when you try to start it, or Does it sound like multiple clicks when you turn the key kinda like cllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllick....

3) what do you mean that wires are melting? the battery wires the stark Plug wires?

1) it try to crank and I saw the alternator is turning and the belt is start going around, but its just not turn over, Its try to start but its not turn over.

2) the clicking sound is when the battery is complete drain and die, cause when I install the battery back to my stang, it make the same sound, so I know the battery is complete die.

3) the spark plug where boot ( the one that connect to the spark plug ), the bottom of it is melting, and its very soft and easy to tear.

I change 3 plug on passenger side, its kinda wet, but 3 other one on driver side is full of water ? the car is complete dry and I fill with water, now I saw water coming out the the spark plug hole, I just gave up on this motor, any chance ?

Oh man.... thats why shes not starting.. You have a Blown head gasket man.. I was under the assumption that it was fixed... Yes, Give Up on getting it started tonight, its not gonna happen...You have to replace the head gaskets.... and all this cranking with coolant in the cylinder isnt good at all for the bearings....

if you want, we can tare the motor down together I can help you replace the head gasket... If you have a Digital camera this will be Great, I may have a v6 I can access to show you what needs to be done..

What motor do you have 2.8L 3.1L , what year?

Drain the oil out of the Oil pan... if theres any water In there you will see it come out first... Let me know how much water comes out

Pull the dip stick, does it Look Like Oatmeal?....

E-mail me at Rad1989ta@aol.com .... becasue if you want to fix the engine, e-mail would be better... if you have Aim IM me at Rad1989ta....

You the cool person in the world, I have a 92 pontiac fire bird v6 3.1L auto, oils look ok to me, when I change the plug its very easy to turn, like I can turn my hand if I can grap it, kinda loose, the other day after I town the car back from my old apparment to my parent house, I did spray the engine with hose, you think because of spark plug loose water can get it ? Im going to take some pix tonight to let u see what up.

never mind, oil is like oatmeal, Im on aim now, and will send you some pix.

Re: Car cant start please help.

Its not Likely.. I could see Water gettin in there if the engine was fully submerged in water or there was high Pressure forcing water past the plug threads.. But you have a now Known Problem. You have water in the cylinders, or atleast in a few of them...If straight water is In the cylinders then your best bet is to loose the engine, and get another... this might be good, because You can Prob drop a carborated v8 in there instead, make yourself a little project for the summer comming around.. Depends on how much cash you want to spend.. If coolant is in there thats Not really all that good Either ahha.. take some Pictures and e-mail them to me.. On the weekends I work doing security and all I do is sit at a desk alll DAY alll night...so send away...
