oil pan???

ok so im building a 383 stoker motor for my camaro i have the short block already put together an have more parts to put on it but im stuck right now cause the block that im puttin everything in i only had the block nothing else. well i got an oil pan from a friend an it has that lil notch on the side for the dip stick well as i put it on the block i realized that the block doesnt have the notch in on it its just straight on both sides. so does anyone know what year is my block so i can hopefully find someone to buy an oil pan off of that doesnt have that lil notch in it?

Re: oil pan???

you need to provide some casting numbers, preferably the ones on the front of the block that are stamped in on the rs front cyl head pad
