Car is slow/has no power
I cant figure out what is wrong with my car. It is extremely slow when driving it. It is a 305 TPI that just had a cam put into it (260/260 duration .444 .444 lift 112 LSA), and its an automatic. The car doesnt really shift right either but I dont know if that is the whole cause of my problem. What should I look into to fix this problem.

First you need to make sure your TV cable is adjusted properly. If its off, 10 miles can wreck the trans.

Re: Car is slow/has no power
I know that the cable is misadjusted. I already tried adjusting it but it wont work (I dont know if the cable or something is bad on it or not). I know the cable adjusts shift points, firmness etc, but can it cause my car to be very slow?

Slower, but probably not the problem. Misadjusted, it can destroy the trans quick.
After the cam install, the car is slower? Was it installed correctly? New intake gaskets? Timing reset correctly?

I never drove the car before I put the cam in and it was installed correctly as fas as I remember. It has new intake gaskets, and the timing was reset to 6 degrees advanced.

Ah, ok. So your saying your car is just slow. Kinda hard to imagine the slow your talking about.
What about the regular maintenance stuff? Distributor cap, plugs, wires, fuel filter, dirty throttle body? Compression?
How does the car sound when you get on it?

Cap, plugs, wires, and rotor are all brand new. The fuel filter was replaced about 2 years ago. Throttle body was cleaned as well. When I get on it, it seems to have a little stumble but not bad.

Re: Car is slow/has no power
Well, the only thing I can think of, is you might need to advance your timing. That cam has a good bit more duration than the stocker, and larger cams need more timing.
I would send it up to around 12* and see how it feels. Most guys with a stock car run 10 for performance. With my Lt1 cam and 1.6 rockers in my old 305, the motor liked the timing at 18*. It made a big difference.

Re: Car is slow/has no power
TPI=slow lol, not helping the guy
Knock sensor makes sense. Computer reprogramming helped for you probably because you are speed density, where as this 85 is MAF. Probably wont help in his case.
You WILL feel the increased timing, whether its the slow problem or not....idk.
