Distributor Rebuild (V6)

I have my dist out and plan on replacing the icm and pick up coil. Was wondering if there is anything else i should replace like whatever surrounds the pick up coil (dont know what its called ) because it is rusted looking. Links to rebuild pages would be much appreciated, i've searched the site many times and can't find what i'm looking for. Also have looked in the articles (which should have an article on dist rebuilds posted). Any help would be much appreciated since I have to put it back in tommorow 5/25 since it's my daily driver.

Re: Distributor Rebuild (V6)

There is an o-ring on the housing right below the mounting flange. Be sure to replace it otherwise they leak oil.

Best that can be done with the rusty parts is to wire brush them. You may be able to find replacements but I'm not sure about that. The rebuilders use a different pole piece then GM did. But I don't know if it is available separately.
