confused

1989 Iroc 305 convert
I've been having trouble the last week or so and havent been able to figure out the problem yet. Just want to see if anyone out there has experienced this or has any idea... Here goes...

Idle is very rough during start. had the car out today ran fine for about 5-10 miles when i got on it it backfired & stalled. Started back up and on the way home car was breaking up bad...anywhere between 1/2 throttle to wide open the car is not responsive at all.

When i got it home started back up and throttle is not responsive at all when put to WOT, the car dies rpms dont rise at all when doing this either

my ideas right now with out really checking into it any further are:
bad MAF sensor
TPS
injectors??
there is also a vaccum leak that sounds like it is under the plenum near the throttle body im sure that is adding to the mayhem
all of the following have been changed in the past 2 years
distributor and cap are , plugs and wires (changed 2 weeks ago) , fuel filter and pump

Re: confused

Every time I had a backfire, it was ignition related. Try these easy things before getting to the complicated stuff.....

Check plug wires, make sure none came off, and that all are tightly on plugs.

Ohm test all plug wires and make sure they all have continuity - even new plug wires can be broken.

Check dist cap and rotor again - maybe try replacing again - they often are damaged when new as well.

Fix that vacuum leak - vacuum problems can really mess things up!
