Hey guys I am thinking of going to a dual Walbro 255 intank pump setup. Now I can do this leaving the stock lines and it would be simple BUT I dont think the 3/8 line is gonna flow enough so the point behind it wouldnt be there.

I was thinking of cutting off the line that sits on top of the tank to the pumps feed to and drilling it out to fit -8an braided line.

Has anyone done a setup like this?

Currently my car is making 410RWHP N/A and I have a 150 shot on it. I dont feel like running outta fuel when on it hard. And I am currently in the process of turboing the car with a BW S400 with around 12# boost

Just curious, why not go to 60# injectors and leave the single 255 in?

 

A 255 is only good for around 500-500RWHP when I boost my Car I will be shooting for 600-700RWHP

If you cut the line and run an 8an, you'll still be choked off by the smaller line in the tank. Why not just get rid of both of the pumps and run a single external pump like a A1000 with a sumped tank?

 

Well I would be running the the -8line into the tank right to a Y fitting then to the pumps.

Were would I find a sumped tank?

I know the answer to sumped tank but for the life of me can't think of it. Like being on jeapordy knowing a 20k question but not being able to write it.
There is a company (guy) making these and he also makes frames for our car racing 1/4's, etc. Shoot. IF I find his name I"ll post it.

 

Yes, I have done it twice.

Do not tamper with the factory line housing. You can not make a hole in it large enough for the 8an line and still have it seal AND you are better off using the factory vent.

On the top of the tank where the the lines run, drill a hole for an 8 an bulkhead fitting.

It will have to be on the only flat part of the tank which is on the engine side of the factory fuel pump access hole.

Put a seal on both sides of the bulk head. Put a 45 degree fitting inside the tank, to point pick up toward the rearmost and lowest part of the tank. The line will get in the way of the stock sending unit for the fuel gage, so it will not work anymore.

On the outside of the tank put a 90 degree fitting and rout your line as needed.

With the stock door line assembly sender unit etc out weld up the stock line for the fuel out. Keep the vent and return lines as is.

I did this and since I cant use the stock sending unit I filled the tank with fuel cell foam also. It stops the slosh.

 

OKay for the first part of this....did u drill the hole on the ring/access hole or on the tank itself?

And th second part wled up the stock line....I assume u mean weld as in plug the factory 3/8s feed line?


My plans were to drill a hole on the top of the acess panel with a 90* fitting. then run -8an line to the pumps (on a Y) then hook each pump with 5/16 line.

Then run -8an all the way tot he front. I dont see how this would be an issue since its basically the same setup as factory other than a bigger line with 2 pumps.

EUREKA!! The guy / company that does nice aftermarket tanks for us is Ed Quay. There....I remembered.

 

Yea, I just used the stock tank.

The picture shows where I put the line, its a -10 then it splits to 2 -8 lines for 2 fuel pumps (I'm only running one right now). The return uses the cap on the top of the tank. I used one of the stock 3/8" lines up there to fit a -6 line to, I'll have to look for pics of that.

The stock heat sheild covers everything up and I plan to fit a factory style muffler.
