Engine Loses RPM then Won't Start

I've got an 86 t/a with an LG4 engine. I've put in a comp cams xe262 cam, a set of hedman headers, a edelbrock performer rpm q-jet manifold and got my carburetor rebuilt last year. Now I'm having a problem where after driving around and heating up the engine, when i stop at the lights, i start to lose rpm, stall, and then can't start again. What could this be? Is my mechanical fuel pump not living up to my mods? Am I losing pressure in my fuel lines? Is there something wonky with my carburetor? Am i experiencing heatbog?

Probably your ignition getting hot. May be vapor lock, though.

it turns over just fine. It just won't catch. I need to let it cool down for a half hour. Could I be flooding the engine?

I hate when my motor is acting wonky

how is your fuel line ran from the pump to the carb. keep it away from the engine

get a spark tester and check to see if you are getting spark in these conditions

take off you air cleaner and see if the accelerator pump charge is getting to the nozzles

sometimes you need to tune the idle air jets when the car is hot. espesially during the summer months

If you were flooding the engine, flooring it and holding it down while cranking would get it going again. You'd probably smell fuel, too.

Sounds like an ignition component getting hot. May be vapor lock, though.
