my camaro was fine i pulled over had it in park and everything then when i went to pull way the shifter wouldnt catch at all it jus slid ack and fourth ?? any answers?

 

Need a little more info. When was the last time the fluid was changed. Did you accidently put it in park before the car was stopped

 

fluid changed not sure but i jsut got it inspect...im hopping it might be one of the linkage cables in the brake because i was messin around with it ( burnouts donuts ect) and nad hittin the gas and brake at the same time (idiotic i no never agin) after that i notices the car wasnt the same then like20 minutes after that i pulled over then when i went to shift again the shifter jus slid back adn fourth

 

Chances are that you broke the transmission cable that links the shifter to the trans. Not a very expensive part but a bit of a pain in the behind to change. Is your car still in par when you try to move the lever? Does it roll if you try to push it?

 

i move the shifter it jus stays in park i cant get it in neutral or anything how would
i change that part?

 

youll need to do the following
take apart the shifter so you can access the linkage
jack up car
look forbracket on drivers side of tranny that swings and click it to neutral
un hook cable from shifter and tranny
reinstall new cable make sure its in neutral or youll break em (i went through 3 lol)
hook back up your shifter
done
about an hour job or so

if in neutral you can turn back tires. if it is in park it would be all the way in one direction and one down is reverse the n then d, 3, 2, 1 you got the point. it you do a search there are al ot of article about replacing shift cables

If you have an open rear differential, you'll be able to turn the tires in park too. Just see if the other side's tire turns in the opposite direction of the tire you turn and at the same speed and so forth. maybe get someone to push on that side in teh same direction you're pushing?
