Question about TPI and engine combination

HI,

Just wondering if a TPI intake would work on a 1985 engine out of a 1500 series pickup? I will try to get the numbers.

Thanks

Re: Question about TPI and engine combination

As far as it being an 85 block, there's no problem there.

Re: Question about TPI and engine combination

'85 engines have perimeter bolt valve covers, with the older style intake manifold bolt pattern (all bolts are at a 90-degree angle). You will want either an 85-86 TPI intake manifold, or any aftermarket TPI intake such as from Edelbrock. If you get an 87-92 stock tpi intake, you will need to elongate the middle four bolt holes from the newer 72-degree angle to the older 90-degree angle.
