1991 L98

Will I run into any problems using the long block from a 1991 L98 (Camaro) and using my 1989 intake?

Re: 1991 L98

marcus88 is thinking of buying my 91 L98 350 TPI longblock and installing it in his 89 Camaro that has a LB9 305 TPI in it.

We know about the knock sensor, Memcal, injectors etc. need to be changed to upgrade to the 350.

The basic question is:

Due to the slight difference in stock 88-89 TPI cams compared to the stock 90-92 TPI cams, will the 89 350 ECM/Memcal work without having it programmed?

If he uses the 89 305 TPI memcal or

If he uses a 89 350 TPI memcal?

I know the 90-92 Speed density Memcals are picky about changes but I thought the 85-89 MAF Memcals were not as picky about changes especially such a slight difference in cams like mentioned above.

Sounds like your knowledge about this issue is the same as mine.

We need an expert to chim in.

All 305 memcals are different than 350 memcals.

Re: 1991 L98

The difference in camshafts is so small it will not make a difference to the computer.
