Coolant Temperature sensor Issue!

OK, So I have had multiple issues with the coolant temp plug on the passenger side head. I was having fan issues replaced the sensor and the pig tail because it was the orginal and the pig tail had burned. Run it a few times issues again the pig tail burned. I then put headers on the car. I put another new pig tail on it. Now I was out driving it around and the temp sensor guage went dead. I assume again the pig tail is burned. Is there any fix for this?

the sensor on the pass head between cyls 6 and 8 doesnt affect gauge. that sensor is actually the fan switch. there is also a sensor on the intake and one on the driver side head between cyls 1 and 3. i forget which one does the gauge. i think one is the gauge and one feeds the ecu but i forgot which is which

Re: Coolant Temperature sensor Issue!

If i recall correctly the one on the intake feeds the ECU, and the one between 1 and 3 feeds the gauge. When the one on the intake went bad in my car, it caused a surging idle.

The one on the drivers side runs the gauge, the one on the intake is for the ECM and the one on the passenger side runs the high speed fans, low speed is controlled by ECM I believe. You could always run a wire and toggle switch to under your dash. Just make sure u run a wire from the switch to a ground in order for it to work.
