Hey I need some help here. I got a 1988 camaro RS 5 speed and when i approach a stop of any kind and put the car in neutral or even so much as push in the clutch the car dies. The car idles great at a stop but for some reason beyond me whenever i come to a abrupt stop the engine revs down to 400 or even 300 rpms and dies. At normal idle i have it set at 750. Also, i have a electrical problem somewhere that lights up the service engine soon light and the car will always die no matter what situation. When this happens, i simply restart the engine and the lights gone and she runs fine again. These two problems i do not believe are connected, but you tell me.

Change your fuel filter and then run some injector cleaner. My car did that one day when I bought a bad batch of gasoline that clogged my filter.
