Cam, head questions??? HELP?
Need help figuring out the best setup for lifters, push rods, rockers, etc...
I have a reman 350 bored to .030. TBI setup with a 50mm bored Edelbrock Performer manifold (#3704), 454 TBI base with cop car injectors, high vol 255pph fuel pump, afpr, etc.
I am putting in a cam from a 96 WS6 TA. I have a set of RHS heads with the following description...
76 CC Combustion chamber 083 / 217 casting style high flow design
Heads are assembled with new 2.02 One piece stainless steel intake valves
Heads are assembled with new 1.60 One piece stainless steel exhaust
valves
Heads are assembled with new 3/8 screw-in-studs and guide plates
Heads are assembled with new stamp steel valve spring retainers
Heads are assembled with hardened valve keepers
Heads are assembled with new. 550 lift springs
Heads are assembled with new valve seals
I also have a set of Comp Cams Magnum Roller Rockers # 1418-16. Rocker Arms, Stud Mount, Roller Tip, Steel, 1.6 Ratio, Fits 3/8 in. Stud.
I need to know what roller lifters do i need and do i need to replace the push rods as well?
My engine is a Recon reman that has 15K miles on it. It is currently a hydraulic roller cam setup.
Does this setup seem like a good match and what do you recommend for roller lifters???
Thanks so much for your help.

Re: Cam, head questions??? HELP?
That has answered a lot of questions for me. Thank you so much. The Comp Cams roller rockers that I have purchased should be an easy installation with no real adjusting? I was not sure whether to purchase the 1.5 ratio or 1.6. Does it really matter?

Get the 1.6 ratio ones
With the stock LT1 cam you should be fine. Be sure the pushrod doesn't hit the head where it comes through the hole. 1.6's rockers move the pushrod closer to the valve; just be sure and check it when you put it together.

Several have told me that they would be surprised if my basic setup has roller lifters, lol. I know it has a roller cam, but I guess it has roller lifters as well? I am very new to this part sorry.

Thank you so much!!!

Any real advantage for me to go with a gear drive as opposed to double roller timing chain and gear set? Or should I just leave my stock setup that only has 15K????
