Left handed drill bit !@#$%

Where on earth (or northeast Ohio at least) can I get a left handed drill bit from. I know that I could order one from various vendors and have it shipped but the problem is I have a day off and ideally would like to go pick one up locally. Seems like I've tried every auto parts store/home improvement store in the tri-county area. Any suggestions? or even better, p/n's? I'm looking for a set if I can get my hands on one, preferably cobalt.

Edit: Looks like I'll have to find something else to do today, ended up ordering from mcmaster carr

Ask for an "EASY-OUT". Find a small hardware store in town. They have things they forget about until they're asked.

You live in Calgary and you complain about not being able to find industrial supplies?

Re: Left handed drill bit !@#$%

None of them are open on weekends! Or I don't know about them...
Greggs, Acklands (ok, 8-12 on sat, BS!), Fastenal, etc etc... I can get the basics, but not the specialty stuff, unless I go during work It's annoying, I get halfway through my project by sat 3pm, and then I need parts that I have to get on monday, and wait until the following weekend to use! d'argh.
I just happen to do the really non mainstream stuff. If I was building a deck with 2x4's and nails I'd have no problem finding anything I need. But doing custom car stuff? I just get funny looks when I try to buy some things...

AUTOZONE! I didn't know until last sunday, they have a set of 4 left handed bits for $9.99 and they are a normally stocked item. Unfortunately for me I bought an easy out as well, I now have pieces of an easy out, both in the bolt I was trying to remove and in the garbage.

Yeah, if you thought the bolt was a pain to drill, try drilling through hardened tool steel.

Re: Left handed drill bit !@#$%

well after ordering the bits I realized I only have 4-6 inches to get my drill in there. No way in hell im getting a drill in there (not even a right angle drill i checked) unless i pull the brake booster and associated lines. it still would be tight. I still have a little hope that I can find something to fit a 4 inch profile but yeahhhh. can of worms........simple manifold to header turns into pull the whole motor. plus side its not my daily driver

You might find a right-angle drill to fit. If not, you can take the head off.

Re: Left handed drill bit !@#$%

Taking the head off is nothing. It's when you start taking the shortblock apart that you start questioning the value of doing anything with the 305.

Re: Left handed drill bit !@#$%

Yeah I guess its a matter of opinion. I was never sold on the 305, but its what my car had so I thought I work with it. Ill just have to eat a set of gaskets out out of 350 fund.
