ICM going bad
ICM going bad
What are some signs of an ICM starting to go bad? Sometimes my '88 305 TPI doesn't want to start. I know its not getting fuel and from what i understand the ICM controls the injectors during start-up. This true? Would this be a problem right before the ICM totally fails? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

ICM = "Ignition Control Module". It's in the distributor, and does not directly control the injectors.
The ECM, "Engine Control Module", controls the injectors.
How do you know it isn't getting fuel?

Re: ICM going bad
Well one of the times it wouldn't start i sprayed carb cleaner past the throttle plates and it fired right up. So its obviously not getting fuel. My question is why tho? And why is it only sometimes?
