Points ignition conversion
Points ignition conversion
I know there are several kits to eliminate the points inside my old chevy distributor I have found reasonably priced products from accel, pertronics, msd, and mallory. Has anyone here used one or more of these? did any of them give you any problems? I just need to some input to help me decide which brand to go with. so far i think im leaning towards mallory just because of price and brand name.

Re: Points ignition conversion
I WOULD JUST GET AN HEI DISTRIBUTOR AND BE DONE WITH IT. REPLACE THE WHOLE THING. THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE WEAR AND TEAR ON THE EXISTING DISTRIBUTOR SHAFT.

Very true.
$90 for an entry level one, $140 if you want funky cool features. You can't go wrong for that price, new shaft and all. (i'd still check the end play though)
