Driver side cyls dead....
Driver side cyls dead....
Hi All, I have an 88 5.7 L TPI in a street rod. The drivers side cylinder are not firing at all. All injectors 16-17 ohm. They have juice and look like they are ok with a noid light on them. Spark to all cyls. Swapped ecm with a spare. Was fine then this happed yesteday when starting form cold. Could half the fuel rail be clogged? What am I missing here?

Jim

Re: Driver side cyls dead....
Do they have +12v on them? It's the ground that's switched by the ECM.
They are usually two fuses, one for each bank, that provides the +12. There are also two drivers in the ECM that provide the ground.

Re: Driver side cyls dead....
-Hmmm, do you have fuel pressure? How do you know they are not firing?
Re: Driver side cyls dead....
Yes, fuel pressure is 40 lbs. It's running on the pass side 4 cyl. not drivable of course. ican pull the drivers side plug wires and it makes no difference. or i can pull the injector connectors and no diff. I know i have spark. new plugs, wire cap rotor. timing @ 6 deg w/est disconnected. and the niod light say the injectors are firing. guess i have to pull the fuel rail and actuall see.
Thanks.
Thanks.
