Installed 6al box with blaster coil.. now....
After not driving the car for about 3 weeks the battery was dead.. new battery and no problems before msd... I charged it ran for about 20 minutes and then it sat again for about a month and same thing. Also my tach breaks up after @3200rpm since the box was installed but seems to run okay. I have the 6al , coil and coil connector. Any ideas why it would drain the battery or break up the tach reading would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

You should disconnect the battery if you're going to park the car for an extended period of time.
Did you connect the tach to the tach terminal on the box?

No the harness for the coil is supposed to eleviate the need to run the tach wire.... just a plug and play deal. As far as the battery I never had a problem letting it sit for a few weeks until the 6al box, could it be a bad ground?

No, it's just the nature of the beast. The box is connected to unswitched battery power. Leaving the car for weeks will drain the battery.

An 87 Firebird should have an electronic speedo. Even cars with mechanical speedos have a VSS though, it's on the cluster on the back of the tach.
