sparkplugs!!

Ive been battling changing the plugs in my trans-am for 2 nights now!
So far i have #1 and #3 out and #5 is broken in two pieces.
I tried taking the front wheels off to maybe give a better angle, but the damn wheels are seized on, Ive beat the things with the biggest hammer Ive got to no avail.
Im losing hope on this thing, what is the trick?

Re: sparkplugs!!

Just went through a spark plug change on my brothers 89' TPI Camaro last week. Get the front end off the ground high enough to crawl under it. Only way you'll ever get to the rear passenger side #6 & 8 plugs. Helps with access to some of the other plugs, too. Pretty sure the wheels don't need to be removed for this, but you'll have to get them off sometime. Maybee wedge a piece of wood or pipe and hydraulic bottle jack between the wheel and cars frame, applying pressure while hammering the wheel. Also, consider renting a large slide hammer threaded through the wheel spokes. Betting some release oil such as JB Buster or Aero-Kroil, wouldn't hurt either.

Removing the wheels won't help. It's all closed off between the wheel and engine.

Re: sparkplugs!!

Actully a hammer to the evaporator box make the passenger side rather easy!
Who needs ac with t tops, or if the car don't run for that matter
Got all but #8 driver rear.
The quest will continue shortly

Re: sparkplugs!!

I had no trouble whatsoever removing all 8 of mine's wit just a craftsman 3/8 ratchet and 5/8 sparkplug socket.
It's pretty tight but it fits straight on them suckers.
Seems like it's gonna be hard but if you just get your hand to the right angle it works.
Although I could only manage to do it if I used my useless left hand. On both sides by the way...lol.
It's a tight squeeze.
replacing them was a little trickier, but still I had no problems except how to angle my paw. Only dropped #8 once.

also I agree with PB blaster on them wheels.
