Engine chain or turnbuckle thoughts.
I have plans to take my motor up to roughly 700hp this winter and maybe 800 with some spray over the summer. I'm currently running poly engine mounts. The engine shakes all over the place at idle, and I can't imagine what its doing under a load.
I run a poly trans mount, but the engine mounts are clearly looser. I don't think thats good for the tailshaft. Loosened up some bell bolts too, which I'm thinking this is the culprit.
I'm pretty sure I need to change to solid motor mounts. I really don't want to mount an engine plate, can I just run a chain or turnbuckle and cable setup?

The way the mounts are designed, a restraint like a chain won't really help much. It's more of a failure disaster preventer than anything else, and the stock clamshell provides that already.
Solid mounts is the better route. Of course, you'd better be doing something for the poor chassis like an 8-point with that much power.
