cam upgrade question!

im wanting to upgrade my cam and was looking for some opinions on my selection.
the cam i am running now is pretty conservative for my motor and its inccome tax time so now is the time to get this stuff i am also lookig at getting a better converter

here is the cam i am thinking of! i would also be getting good valve springs and supporting hardware

Solid roller, rough idle. Excellent cam for high performance street/strip applications. Excellent mid to upper RPM torque and horsepower in 355-383 cubic inch engines. Needs 3000-3500 RPM stall speed converter, 10:1 or better compression, aftermarket exhaust system and 3.90 rear gear ratio

  • Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 279/285
  • Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 249/255
  • Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .585/.600
  • LSA/ICL: 110/106
  • Valve Lash (Int/Exh): 016/016
  • RPM Range: 2800-7200

Re: cam upgrade question!

Do you think you can get that beast running with FI? I'm not sure how picky HSR is, but that's a beast of a cam.

You'd probably need to upgrade your stall speed, and valve springs, maybe a stud girdle as well. Poly locks too.

What heads are on the car? Keep in mind this would be a 3500-7000RPM cam...

Re: cam upgrade question!

the heads are patriot 195's and i would be getting a pi vigilate 3200 converter
and the proper valve springs and locators & retainers

as far as tunning i dont think it would be that bad and i could always run it in alpha n at idle, i dont think its that radical and im rying to stay away from comp cause evreyone runs their cams

Who makes the cam?

That isn't an EFI grind, not even close.
