no oil pressure
ok having a problem with the firebird. When i first start the car up in the morning it has no oil pressure until the engine warms up. Its not low on oil and after it warms up no problems at all and its back to the normal 25-35 lbs. What could cause this? I am about 500 miles overdue on a oil change but i wouldn't think that would cause this

Re: no oil pressure
If you're really worried about it you could replace the pressure sending unit with a guage to know if it's a sending unit problem, a wiring issue that is affected by heat, or a real issue with the lubricating system. That's the only sure-fire way to separate a possible bad problem from an easy fix.
I'm no expert by any means, but I find it hard to believe you would have low pressure until you were at operating temp. My best guess is an electrical issue or the sending unit.

Re: no oil pressure
If you really had no oil pressure it wouldn't be running any longer. You might try a new sender or a mechanical gauge.
