sudden death woes
alright third gen gurus, i've got an 89 rs 5.0 tbi 700r4 that i've had a couple of intermittent problems with. on occasion i'll slow down for a stoplight, stop and the car will idle for a couple seconds and die. it will promptly start back up again and sputter to death again. after one or two times of doing this, it starts up fine and runs no trouble. fuel pump? also on occasion, the car will not start. i have all gauges, radio, all that, but turn the key and nothing, but when i let off the key everything works again. won't start if i hit the starter, play with the battery cables, nothing. yet i can walk away for 20 minutes and it will start up. am i losing my harness or do i have a fusible link going out or wat? finally, if i'm in fourth gear on the highway, my car will surge unexpectedly like it's totally lost power, but when i give it full throttle or kick it into third it goes away. the tranny was rebuilt a year ago, is my lockup going out or is it again the fuel pump? any help would be greatly appreciated
