Having a new problem with my firebird after my injector change.. at startup (hot or cold) the motor will go straight to around 3k rpms and take about 10 seconds to go to idle, and it takes a lot longer to start it than it used to (takes around 3-4 secs of cranking now as opposed to <1sec before). Also its idling around 1400 all the time, which caused me to fail my emissions test because their computer said invalid idle (needs to be 800-1000.) While the engine was running I sprayed some starter fluid on all the vacuum hoses and seals on the injectors, etc. and it didn't affect the engine speed or sound different in any way. Does anyone have any ideas? The line coming from the purge air valve to the TB doesn't seem to ever have airflow.. maybe its just my imagination but could the purge valve cause this kind of problem? No CEL. The issue started after changing my injectors, which are all sealed along with every hose and gasket I removed.

i have a clicking coming from the middle of the left side engine when under load (hopefully manifold gasket is bad, not a cracked head or something) would this cause it? My guess is no since it idled a little better before the injectors and it always had the clicking noise since i bought it.
