Service Engine Light MAF Sensor

Hello, I recently decided that I was going to sell my 92 RS 305 TBI Camaro and that I was going to fix it up a bit, and am having trouble locating a few things.

The service engine light has been on for about a year now (Yes I know...stupid hehe) and when I ran the codes for it I believe it said noted the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I am not home right now and cannot run the codes at this time, but incase this still holds true I was wondering where the mass air flow sensor was on 1992 RS 305 TBI, if anyone had a picture of it, and where the heck can I buy this thing because I have looked all over google, the forums, and other places and I cannot seem to locate a thing!

Thank you very much,
Rookiecamaro

TBI doesn't have a MAF.

Get the code, it's probably used for different things for different systems.

Re: Service Engine Light MAF Sensor

hmm alright then. Would something trigger the MAF code if I didnt have one?

That would explain why I couldnt find one for sale anywhere

Re: Service Engine Light MAF Sensor

GM uses the same codes for different engines. On a MAF car that code would be for the MAF sensor. On a MAP car (your TBI engine is MAP) that code would mean something else. You need to figure out what number the code is and then we can help.

Re: Service Engine Light MAF Sensor

I was thinking it was the MAP sensor but was not sure. Sadly I am trying to sell the car as I have a 99 camaro that is suiting me better at the time.

Just trying to kick out the final kinks on the old one. Will be home on the weekend to test the codes.

Re: Service Engine Light MAF Sensor

It would be a MAP sensor error (34) on a TBI car. However, its not always the actual sensor itself--it could be a relay or one of 4-5 other things. Good luck!
