Probably A Very Stupid Question...

I'm going to apoligize in advance for this question. Today me and a buddy were screwing around with our rice cars, mine is a winter beater Mazda 626. My friend has a manual Acura. We were trying to smoke the tires, which is easy for him with a stick. He kept telling me to put my car in nuertral, rev it to redline, then shift into drive. I finally did it, and wham! The car smoked the tires! And the force was so hard that my catalytic converter pan fell off!

My Camaro has a 700R4 and around 125,000 miles. I am wondering what will happen if I do that with the Camaro. Probably an insane burnout. This obviously, cannot be good for any transmission, and I am scared to do it with my Camaro that I really baby.

Can a 700R4 take that kind of abuse? Or my stock rear end?

This is probably a question that is grounds to revoke my "man liscense"! Lol.

Tranny slams are one of the dumbest things you can do. If it's on a beater you don't care about, then cool. But you do not want to do that with your camaro.

Aaron, how many times have you been told "there is no such thing as a stupid question"!

Well I'm afraid you've been lied too.

And unless you want people to point ... and laugh, please don't do it to your camaro. And stop doing it to your 626.

Re: Probably A Very Stupid Question...
I use to do this in my grand am, you can do it for a while, but things break, engine, tranny, rear end, drive shaft in the camaro.

If you cant do a burn out in the camaro, its got some serious issues. Even the v6 guys can light em up.

Re: Probably A Very Stupid Question...
Best way to do a FWD burn out is to go around a corner, or slam down the ebrake and smash the gas, if you have enough power it should roast them, the new black top is the best to do it on

Lol... I would, except the Mazda is what my parents bought for my brother to drive when he gets his liscense. They are letting me use it so I don't have to drive my car in the snow... lol not a good idea to wreck it, and it runs really good.

Ok then, probably not the best idea to trash it then. I had an old dodge pickup truck that I didn't care about and I neutral dropped it everywhere. After awhile it got a huge hesitation on full power 2-3 upshifts. But no, not something to do to a car you need/want/isnt yours.
