Help please!!

Okay so I pulled the starter from my 89' Iroc-Z and now I can't seem to get the new one into position to bolt back on. Can anyone please give me suggestions to help me with this. I could'nt beleive how quickly I removed the old one and how much trouble I am having tryin to put in the new starter. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Help please!!

I want to help, but I'm not really sure of why it's proving difficult. You just stick the back end up first, then once it's above the y-pipe, turn it 90 degrees and start the bolts.

Re: Help please!!

I was trying to put it back in the same way it came out. If I remember correctly, I pulled the back end down and out first. So you're saying push the rear end of the starter (flat side) up inside first and then reposition till front lines up with mounting holes? I keep hitting the y-pipe and it won't let me turn the starter to get it in position.

Gravity was helping you the first time. If it's comes to it, just loosen the Y pipe and pull it down a bit.
