193 heads with crane 2032 will it be half enjoyable?

From reading various threads, I'm worried about lack of off-idle torque if I go with non-swirl heads, TBI, and the Crane 2032. Also, my LO5 is low mile and in great shape and despite their bad reputation, I'd hate to pull my 193 heads just to replace them with 083 heads (which are my only other option, don't suggest other heads) which will cost several hundred just to get freshened up.

So, if I just leave my 193 heads, put in the 2032, will it be serviceable? I'm not so much worried about maxing out my potential, car is a daily driver. I'm just not sure if the 193 heads will actually cause driveability problems when mixed with that cam. 214/220 and .452"/.465". 112 lsa

Opinions?

Probably about half.

Assuming you replace the valve springs first.

You'll have more cam than the heads can support. The heads' "sweet spot" will be offset by the cam not being optimized in that area. Overall, it'll have a narrow powerband, worse than with 083 heads would be with a little higher than stock stall. But, even with the swirls you'll probably have more power than the stock cam would produce.
