There is a plate missing on my engine and I don't know what it is technically called. It looks like it bolts into the intake and cover the distributor cap area?

Here is the best picture I can show you, straight back of the intake towards the distributor cap

Where can I buy a replacement one?

GM P/N 10108425 Aluminum Plenum Extension $ 19.50
GM P/N 14082425 Screws (for plenum extension) $0.42 x 3

thats the part number for the aluminum one off of a vette, the f-bodies had plastic ones, not sure of the part number, or why you would get it instead of the aluminum. you should be able to pick them up at your local gm dealership. also, those prices are pretty old, so they may not be correct anymore.

deus is correct. The cover's only function is to prevent water from dripping off the hood and onto the distributor cap. I don't have one and have never had a problem, however it's pretty dry up here in Calgary.

Really? I thought it was just to make it look cleaner, but that makes sense.

They also sell it on modern day muscle. Plastic or aluminum.
