I'd say start by defining what you consider to be having some ***** on the street. What do you want it to be quicker than?

You never mentioned weather it is carb'd or tuned port injected.
Re: What upgrades to do..?
well see thats the issue don't know to much about the car and didnt know how to tell what kind of motor is in it, i planned on puttin in a newer motor instead of the stock motor ne wayz, i thought about a 383 stroker but seemed maybe too much for street purposes so i figured maybe using a 350 and building it instead

Figure $1000 for good headers, cat and cat-back. Figure another $2000 for either a T56 conversion or a built 700R-4 or T5 transmission with new clutch or torque converter, figure another $1000 for a fresh 350 short-block, and another $1500 for cam, heads, intake, and the rest. For that money you could find a rough '98-'02 Z28 or a decent '95 Z28.

go for it dude! third gens kick *** and they are worth the money.. especially when some jack*** rustang pulls up next to you revin his engine and you smoke the **** out of em... let alone some stupid honda
as far as mods go for the third gen tbi ... such as my 91 rs... replace cylinder heads, exhaust and reinforce the chassis. however you can save some money by going for a built 400 block or maybe a LQ4 engine. these are some of the most fun cars in the world to work on and drive, dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

I wasn't trying to dissuade you, just presenting an easier alternative. The majority of the LS1 guys get well into the 12s before killing the stock axle. That axle is no better than what our '90-'92s have. But if you need one, that's another $2000.
