Transmission: 700r4, 5spd std
Axle/Gears: 3.73
head gaskets?

so in one of my other posts someone mentioned not to use steel headgaskets because if the block or head is not truely flat it will leak. does anyone hve any other input on this matter? thanks.!

Re: head gaskets?

It's okay to run them on used blocks if they pass the straightedge test and have no dings or nicks you can see or feel. You should always have any heads, new or used, resurfaced before installing them. Also, the pistons must be at least 0.020" in the hole at top dead center. Following the above guidelines, I've never had nor heard of any trouble with FelPro steelshims.
