oil pressure?

So at first i thought my oil pressure gauge was broken, until I check my oil. I am losing oil FAST. My gauge jumps in between 30 and 60 sometimes, but is usually on 60. I have no visible leaks, but one of my cylinders compression is a little low.

With all this said, what can my problem be?

worn out piston rings. How many miles on the car or on the engine? The engine in my car is from an 82 Caprice and has never been torn apart. I'm burning oil and am building a new engine for the car. May be what you need.

Re: oil pressure?

I wonder if that cylinder has broken rings. 60K is a good amount of miles, but shouldn't be broken yet. Do a cylinder leak down test to see where that cylinder is leaking it's compression.
