Broken Engine
After doing a couple doughnuts in my 91 camaro(v6) i was driving away and my car just died on me. I tried to restart it but a clicking noise just happened and it didnt fire up. Its not the battery, alternator or starter. Any suggestions?

Re: Broken Engine
need mroe info than that to help somebody, did it make any loud or strange noises before dying. Have you checked for loose connections. is the car not turning over at all, or is it just not firing
the basics of an engine are spark, fuel, air, your not getting one or all three, check that

It didnt make any strange noises it just cut off and is making a loud metallic clicking noise. And i just replaced the spark plugs two weeks ago and i cant find any loose connections. I was thinking the timing chain may have broken.

I would remove the valve covers and inspect the valve train, for starters (no pun intended).

Re: Broken Engine
Are you saying that when you try to turn the crank over by a ratchet, that the cam wont turn? How do you know this?
You can also remove the front cover plate and inspect the timing chain and cam gears. But this is alot more involved than removing the valve covers.

Re: Broken Engine
You got it! Go with a 383, no sense in stopping at a 350. If you are really crazy, you can put a big block in it, but a 383 is a lot more reasonable. Time to start your research.
