I have an 86 iroc with a rebuild 700r4 trans, stock disk rear and a 305 High Output TPI from an 87 trans am. The car runs fine when driven normal but whenever I floor it, it first picks up and then for a second it doesnt put down the power, as if I accidently popped it in the NEUTRAL and then it picks up again. What could be the issue? I thought it could be timing but the mechanic doesnt think so.

 

hmmm, make sure your throttle valve cable for the tranny is adjusted properly would be a guess of mine. We fried a 700R4 not too long ago because of this adjustment. It was a $1200 AAMCO lesson!
