New member here.I need help with my 1992 rally sport camaro. It is a v8, 305 tbi, convertible. My speedometer stopped working last as I was driving home. It was working properly prior to my return trip and as I was going down a bumpy road attempting to drive slowly, I checked the speedometer to find that it wasn't registering at all. We just bought the car last night and it has roughly 130,000 miles on it. We jacked it up and checked the tranny where we thought the cable would be connected only to find there wasn't one. I have done some research and now believe it to be electronic. I need any information that can help with fixing the problem.Drove it a few miles today and the speedometer would jump up and down then start working.
How can I fix my speedometer?
and does anyone know where I can get a convertible top? Im close to Houston Texas

they hawks third gen for the top.

did you check and see if the plug in the tail shaft of the trans, driverside, was loose? it has a purple and a yellow wire. thats the speedo connector. Its most likely loose and causing the issue.

Yes, electronic. As 86 mentions check the tail shaft. If the plug is in place, check the VSS.
