which one of these starters should i buy?

i need a new starter, my cheap lt1 starter has once again died. I am looking for a good starter for my t56 trans. I was thinking the Hitachi Enforcer Mini Starter or the Summit SUM-829100 Mini High-Torque Starters. My budget is somewhere around 150. which one of these are the best for my setup?

I've been using a Summit mini starter 820323 for about a year and it has been great. I used to have hot-start issues where it would crank really slow, if at all, but not anymore. I will never go back to a stock starter.

I broke 2 of those LT1 starters... just ended up with my old giant starter on the car.

Are those LT1 starters really this notorious for breaking?

Just buy a 88-91 corvette mini starter. In 100 degree days and 220 degree operating temps my 90 vette cranks over without a problem. You can buy them pretty cheap.

Re: which one of these starters should i buy?

are you actually breaking the casing or are you just having issues with the solenoid dying? A remote solenoid setup will set you back no more than $50 and you'll probably be able to use the "dead" starter you already have

https://www.thirdgen.org/solenoid

that's exactly what I did on my last car after going through 3 starters in 1 month. didn't have to do another one til I sold the car.

Re: which one of these starters should i buy?

Well actually my starter did work until I tried to remove the connections when pulling the engine and the selenoid fell apart. But I was thinking about getting a smaller one just because I'm not sure about headers yet and thought a smaller one would have less fitment issues when the headers go on.

that is acutally a cool idea, bookmarked that one for later.

Also I'm looking at one of these two starters, can't figure out which one is smaller:

I have a 100K one on my 12:1 383 and it cranks fine regardless of engine temp

I run a standard powermaster ministarter with a heat blanket, no issues with heat soak, always cranks over good, never had a problem
