Vortec heads, Patriot Performance?

Well Im doing a 383 build, And trying to get away from my l98 heads.
Im really into the vortecs But wanted bigger valves (like 2.02 intake 1.60 exhaust) and Found these Patriot Performace Vortecs with the Bigger valves and there only $630.

Anyone use these? any imputs, if I get some good feedback im deffinatly going to buy them.

It kinda depends on your camshaft selection. If you are under .470-.480 lift or so, then go with vortecs. The heads you are showing only flow 4cfm better @ .500 lift than the stock vortecs on the intake side, and it took them a 10cc bigger intake runner and 2.02/1.60 valves to get that. Used vortecs bring around $200 or less on craigslist.

on the other hand, if your lift is over the .470-.480 mark then I would no doubt go for the patriots, or even a set of RHS vortecs.

If you were to get the gm vortecs machined to accept higher lift, you are gonna have as much, if not more in them as you could buy a NEW set of aftermarket heads for.

I just assumed you were talking about a used set of vortecs. $600 vs $630 for aftermarket heads with screw in studs and good valvesprings is a no brainer.

I am thinking about going with these Patriot heads as well. Do you happen to have the complete flow numbers of stock vortec heads so I can compare?
