After New Fuel Pump 1 Week later no start...Help anyone.

Hello All,
I have a 88 camaro 305 TBI it has been rebuilt about 2 years ago and as not had much time on the road.. After a year of sitting in my driveway I gathered all the parts which included a fuel pump replacemtent becasue I was not getting gas into the throttle body. Replaced the alternator and the car turned on no problems. Drove it around the block no issues.. About a week later i noticed the battery not holding a charage.. the battery is about two years old , and in texas heat I figured it was bad.. I swapped it out and tried to turn the car on. It started but was very sluggish as in not recieving enough gass and then died. The car will turn over but will not start. Fuel is being sent to the TBI and I have spark at the number 1 cylinder. I removed the Ignition control module and had it checked at autozone. it passed the test on the machine. Could anyone throw out some advise. I was messing around the fuse box area looking at all the wires i had under the dash but i did not mess with anything other than my alarm could it be the kill switch from the alarm system? because I recall the car not turning over when whilce the alarm is on..any help please Dunno what else it can be? Timing chain? computer? timing chaion repalced double roller how can I tell/ check the ecu?

Was it fresh gas in the tank after you put the fuel pump in? Gas can go bad in a couple of months of sitting. Sounds from your story that its only been driven around the block before the new no-start issue. If you've driven is a bit, added gas and you know the pump is working, then its something else.

It was a mixture of old gas and then added new gas into it thinking the tank was empty and was the reason it was not starting.. I have added almost 12 dollars of gas into the tank, new pump and strainer along with fuel filter prior to putting in the fuel pump

If possible you, should still check the fuel pressure to the engine. Contamination in the tank can ruin a new pump right away. I;ve seen people bring in 3 pumps in a month thinking they were defective pumps. Problem was contamination all along. Sometimes your original part went bad for a reason.
Also gas that has been allowed to sit that long can congeal. The good gas might break it up, but it dosent make the bad gas good. Just think you should fully eliminate the fuel as a problem before you get to involved in some other area.

make sure the fuel pump turns off when you turn the car off. it sounds stupid, but i had this exact problem. a constantly runnin fuel pump will keep draing the battery. just my two cents

Definitely!

And as well, a bad oil pressure sending unit (OPSU) can keep the pump from running at all. The pump will prime from the ECM/Relay, but what keeps the pump running after initial start is the OPSU - the pump gets a constant supply of 12v directly from the battery to the OPSU to the pump - the ECM/FP Relay circuit is cut off after initial start. A bad OPSU can keep the pump from running, or make the pump run constantly, whether the key is in the car or in your pocket.

Update.
I noticed that fuel seems to be gushing into the TBI unit and I recall it being a fine spray/mist.. I removed the spark plugs and seems to have alot of carbon( Could not see white on the tip) and also wet not all of them but some.. also at the base of the TBI unit seems to be a wet area( but dry when i touch it) would this be from the Fuel pressure regulator? could it be bad causing it to pour fuel down the TBI casuing it not to start?

Still No luck on starting car. any Help/Advice

I have thrown some various parts on the car including and ign control module, coolant temp sensor and oil sendint unit, along with the coolant sending unit i believe on the driver side lower block next to #1 plug. I have removed the distributor was thinking about replacing the pick up coil but I believe I have spark, I placed the distributor back in with the rotor facing the same position as it was when removed...still no start. fuel seems to be pouring into the TBI any ideas on what would cause too much fuel to be dumped in the TBI unit? Also there seems to be a wet stain under the TBI unit would something inside be leaking causing too much fuel to be thrown into the cylinders causing the engine not to start? any help would be appreciated want my baby(Car) running again

Thanks in advance
