Gas Smell dont know why
I baught a 1991 Camaro Z28 350 T.P.I it ran good when i first started driving it. still runs great till this day its just that i got a really stong gas smell from everytime i start the dang thing. i dont know what its comiong from and when im driving it it will randomly put out a gas smell i took apart the air intake and the fuel rails and cleaned them out and same thing with the runners cleaned them out to and i still get that smell im just wondering if anyone has any options for why im getting this smell my best guess its a fuel leak but idk where its coming from and the smell is very strong in the air intake

Perhaps a ruptured fuel pressure regulator diaphram. If it ruptured it would suck fuel in right from the vacuum line. Any check engin codes?

Since you live in the snowbelt and I'm guessin' that this car has seen plenty of
winter snow and salt driving and you seen no obvious underhood fuel leaks.
My guess would be a rotted fuel line.
Easy to find.........Just get a air line and blower end attachment.
Wrap the blower end with a rag...Insert in the fuel filler.......CAREFULLY add
air pressure.........Look for leaks !

Well you know you can always ring out the codes on your own. The diagnostic port where they plugged in their scanner if you short the upper right hand 2 pins together (car off key in the run position) with a paperclip the check engin light will flash out any codes stored in the form of 2 series of flashes repeted 3 times. It might be something like flash 2 times pause then flash 6 times pause that would be code 26 and it should repeat that code 2 additional times. If there are no trouble codes stored it will still flash code 1-2. Try running the codes and see what it turns up.
