non baffled valve covers and pcv

I am getting oil all over my plugs

I have old school m/t valve covers that do not have baffles

would the pcv valve suck up enough oil to leave deposits on my plugs

thanks

PCV shouldn't be causing the plug problem; I'd be more prone to say its a valve stem seal issue. Have they ever been replaced?

You can suck quite a bit of oil through the PCV valve. If there is enough to leave deposits on your plugs, you should see oil in your intake manifold.

I was a bit too quick to the response button; five7 does bring up a good point. If the oil is being sucked through the PCV, you should definitely see oil in the intake manifold.

Yes, but where does the PCV suction deposit the engine gasses? Is it back by cylinders 5 & 7 or does it get distributed evenly?
I would think that the breather would be more likely. Getting sucked into the TB would have a much more even spread throughout the engine.
On the other hand, maybe a rebuild is in order.

Re: non baffled valve covers and pcv

its a pretty fresh rebuild and I had baffeled valve covers on the motor to begin with and the plugs stayed nice and dry

how does the pcv valve distribute the gasses

What induction do you have, TPI?

It's typically routed to the intake manifold under/behind the throttle blades. Gets distributed evenly to all cylinders that way.

Re: non baffled valve covers and pcv

The TPI's get the breather going to below and behind the TB blades in the plenum. The PCV goes to the manifold.
How does the PCV system get distributed? It goes directly to the intake manifold.
