Re: low oil pressure
Are you sure the stalls/shuts off from low oil pressure? You could have a small vacuum leak that only becomes a problem when your using the power brake booster. My buddy had the same problem in his Fiero. If it isn't that I'd still think it would be somewhere along the lines of vacuum.
Hope this helps somewhat.

Re: low oil pressure
i don't think it is a vacuum because I've redone the hoses recently, but I'm more trying to figure out why I have such a low oil pressure.

Re: low oil pressure
Well, then I'd say your oil pump is worn out, or the oil pressure sensor is bad and giving a false reading/lying to the ecm. Can you hear the valves making noise?

Re: low oil pressure
For starters i would check to make sure your oil pressure reading is correct by checking it with a mechanical gauge. If it turns out you truly do have low pressure thats not the cause of say a plugged filter, low oil level, or something to that extent your motor is trashed or i should say in need of a rebuild at least.

Re: low oil pressure
you have a vacuum leak, contrary to the seamed popular belief around here, the oil pressure sensor for the fuel pump will NOT shut your vehicle down in a no oil pressure situatin, it is a nothing more than a bypass for the fuel pump relay. when you push your brakes, your brake booster exhausts your vacuum and the engine dies and your oil pressure subsequently drops to 0, what i would do to start is plug the line for the brake booster and drive around on standard brakes, the bladder in the booster probably ruptured. if she doesnt die, then you have a vac leak, most likely in the booster, if your booster ruptured i'dd pull your master cylinder away from it cuz that USUALLY is caused by brake fluid leaking past and into the booster
