Hi guys,
Ok, my o2 sensor has f*ing locktight on it or something because I've been trying for two days and it won't budge. I've had it constantly soaked in penetrating oil, heated it with a torch and have let the car run for a few minutes. And I'm using a 24" cheater bar. And it still won't come off!!!! Any tips???

Do you have access to an impact gun? They work wonder on things that are stuck and are less likely to break things than using a pry bar.

 

Dont be bashfull, get under the car and remove the down pipes, if you havent done it. Then do the 1/2 inch deep socket with an impact wrench as the other member has said. That would be the best thing to do unless you hit the junkyard and salvage another header.

 

Nope, don't even have a torch. Have to borrow my friends. If I can't get it out I might just buy some headers. I can't get a decent seal where my manifolds meet the y-pipe so I need em anyway.

 

Is it your passengerside where there is a bad seal? If so, is there like a donut piece in between the header and down pipe? This is used to mount the header and downpipe so that there is a seal. the donut looking thing is flared so that it can fit inside the flared end of the down pipe.

 

It leaks both sides, has the "donut" on both too. They have absolutely no reason to leak. Everything is on right, bolts are tight. Even took unhooked em and slobbered clear silicone every where. Only helped for a little while. They're just so damn rusty they'll never seal. I'll get headers eventually. Hopefully I'll get better mpg too, I'm getting comparable too or less than my formy, NOT cool. I've still got another 1k to dump into this POS

Let the truth be known, it's rolling sh*t, but it's my rolling sh*t and it's the second best car in my school parking lot, (some one has an l98 iroc). If I'm not poor this summer I might get it painted. If I ever fix everything

Thats probably why you need to replace your O2 sensor

 

Yes, the car will run rich because some (ok alot) of the exhaust isn't getting to the o2 sensor. But I really need to replace it cause I broke the wire off it. I just bought some headers and have to use a different o2 sensor anyway, so I'm not even bothering with it.
