TPI car falling on it's face
Hello, I am a proud owner of a 91' bird with a 350TPI. Here is the issue. About six months ago this car was driven on an 50 mile trip with a loose radiator cap.
I realized this when we got to our destination at a traffic light. The temp guage started rising! Ok, so i pulled over and left it running as i found a hose and filled it back up. Ok, so temp went back down. Ever since that day the car has been down on horsepower. This car runs great when just driving normally. Although, Now, when you floor it or even just try to pass on the highway, the damn thing falls on it's face! Almost feels like my distributor is wet or my exhaust is clogged. I am not sure if it is a fuel problem or a spark problem. Or even mechanical! Car does not run hot (runs at 160 all the time), oil is clean, antifreeze is clean and always full, no smoke or steam, idles great. Here are the parts that i checked or replaced: cat converters are good, fuel injectors good/replaced (all ohmed at 0.015), o2 sensor good, no engine codes. No vacume leaks either. At this point i am thinking that maybe the wires or plugs may be bad? fuel filter? Distributor cap? I am hoping nothing is going on inside those heads!
NEED HELP REALLY BAD.
