5.0 MPI?

I went to one of them free VIN check websites due to boredom, and it said 1986 Camaro, of course, but there's something I do not get. It said Engine: 5.0 MPI.

Does anyone know if there even was a 5.0 MPI engine offered? Is this a mistake from the site? My Camaro has not had the original engine in over two years, but I'm just curious.

Re: 5.0 MPI?

MPI is just a generic term for TPI. In 1986, you could get an IROC with either TPI, or a carbed engine (the L69 I think). So yes, MPI was an available in 86, as TPI.
