need help finding a cam
im trying to put together a budget build right now for my 85 iroc and im looking for some advice on what cam would work best with my set up. i put in a gen 1 350 with an edelbrock 600 carb on an eps manifold. i just put on a pair of lightly ported 416 heads and a set of long tubes. the only other performance upgrade would be the flamethrower coil and distributor. i looking to get a cam with good duration and lift. sense the motor has high compression its got torque, im looking for something thats going to help those heads breathe a little easier throughout the rpm range but more so on the top end. i still want to be able to take the car out on the road sometimes so it cant be to extreme but still needs to have that choppy idle. i kno im askin a lot but any help would be nice. and if you can estimate what kind of numbers im might see at the wheels with this set up would be good to.
Re: need help finding a cam
i have a 79 vette 350 bored to a 355 with 194 heads, mild cam, shorty headers, edelbrock street tunnel ram with 2 holley 600 carbs, mallory unilite distributer and msd blaster 2 coil. i will be going with an edelbrock performer rpm cam and lifter kit. much better than the regular performer cam and its defanitly in a budget build price range. hope that helps.

Re: need help finding a cam
I am looking for a cam, lifters, springs for a 2.8/ 60* engine with 3.1 mpfi heads, with strong torque for bracket racing, rough idle with carb. The engine is in a 88 camaro with auto, the car will only be used to race, can any one help me?

Re: need help finding a cam
Although you should really start your own thread because this is such an easy question i figure ill just answer it. lol just dont lol. Besides bracket racing is based on constancy not actual performance this is how a quad actually won at one of our local tracks back when i was in PA even though it ran like a 20+ second time it just ran that time every time lol. You just wont be happy with the results. If you want more details why or get some other opinions ide recommend starting your own thread or feel free to shoot me a PM.

Re: need help finding a cam
Ive got one of these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-12-214-4/ id like to get rid of along with a set of comp cams variable durations lifters. In my car it made power from 2800-6800. But I was running a 100psi of oil pressure so im pretty sure it made the liters pump up the second I started her. I bet with lower op the rpm range could be 2500-6800 but im no expert. Has very little use maybe 150 miles on it if not less. 75 bucks or all of it. And I even kept the lifters in order so you can make sure they get to run on the same lobe
