Anyone had any issue with these?
I bought one, a trickflow @ 30400951, along with summit oil pan G3500X, and a cloyes 9-221 timing cover.
The gasket is "thick" in the front, as required by the oil pan footnotes. When placed firmly in the block, locked into the rear cap and timing cover, if I put the oil pan on the pan sits about 1/4" away from the block on each side. If I try starting the bolts, it seems like the pan wants to flex rather than tighten. It's like the seal is too tall on the front AND rear. very strange.
With the gasket off, pan rests on the rail with no issues.
I mocked up the oil pickup height without the gasket, measured, so with the normal gasked rail thickness the pickup will be in the proper location, welded the pickup on, etc. The pickup isn't the issue. It seems like the gasket is.
If I try to force the pan on, torque it down, etc I think it will just bend the pan.
Any ideas? I bought the 1pc gasket to be "leak free"...

Mine is a one piece, engine builder installed.

I installed the same oil pan on my engine, but with a plastic vortec timing chain cover + felpro's version of that gasket. I do recall it being kinda thick and not allowing the pan to seat. I ended up just tightening it down and had no issues. Once all the bolts where torqued to spec, it sat flat and level like it should. But, this was with the felpro gasket. Not sure how compliant the trickflow one is. Does it give at all when you press the pan down by hand at the front or rear?

I pushed down pretty hard and almost knocked the stand over.. I don't know what the deal is. I just A) don't want to force the pan, and B) most of the bolts are not long enough to catch the threads.
I could buy a ton of 1/2" length bolts instead of the stock bolts, and force it in just don't want any leaks.. very strange.
I'm using the cloyes cover because it has an adjustable cam button for my roller cam. (so I can set endplay). I bought the trickflow gasket because summit was out of stock on the felpro when I had ordered the pan.

Let us know how that works, i used a 1 pc felpro i believe on my 2pc rear main seal dart block and it fit fine with stock timing chain cover

Now I need to measure, and cut my hole in the floor for the shifter.
