TPS adjustment question
I have an 87 camaro with the adjustable tps. can you move the tps up or down to adjust it with out having any meters hooked up to it. cuz i want to do trial and error to try to adjust and i dont have the tools.

borrow a meter from somebody. set it to dc volts. .54volts at idle with engine off.. TIP: anything over .64volts sets off check engine light.

If you are going to do some basic tuning yourself, you have to buy the right tools for the job. For a minimum, I would say: timing light, volt meter for autos, noid light for injectors, special distributor wrench, fuel pressure gauge, and basic hand tools.
On these TPI cars, you want to be able (for yourself) to do: change out spark plugs, set the timing, set the TPS voltage, measure the fuel pressure, adjust the idle RPM,,,,,

Good advice. I purchased the factory service manual when I bought my '87,,, I have referred to that manual about a 1,000 times. The Haynes manual is good but not as good as the factory service manual.
